Latheef elected as the President of VAM and Izzath Waheed as his deputy

Mohammed Latheef has been elected as the President of Volleyball Association of Maldives VAM and Izzath Waheed has been elected as the Vice President.

Both of them were elected with 12 votes. In addition, members were elected to some sub committees of Volley Ball Association and members were elected to Beach Volley Ball Association as well.

Latheef had a successful volley ball career starting from his school days. Speaking after the election, he said that he wants to spread the sport all over Maldives instead of it being a sport that is only played in Male’ area.

He further said that President Yameen gives a lot of priority to develop sports in the Maldives. Latheef said that he will cooperate with the government to implement the sports manifesto of the government.

Latheef said that he will make sure that VAM is the most successful sports association in Maldives.
