Ooredoo teamed up with HabeysBoduberu group to celebrate their commitment to planet earth and raise awareness on climate change, with a candlelit Boduberu Session during Earth Hour. In addition to candles, the company also used LED lights to light up the event, as a way to promote energy efficient lighting - a key for any sustainable future. The company also switched off all non-essential lights at of their locations across the Maldives during Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is a worldwide grassroots movement uniting people to protect the planet, which aims to encourage an interconnected global community to share the opportunities and challenges of creating a sustainable world.

Ooredoo has actively made an effort to become an increasingly eco-conscious company. It was the first company in the Maldives to introduce the modern Single Radio Access Network (RAM) equipment, which helps save 54% in electricity consumption, and 80% in carbon footprint. The company was also the first in South East Asia to deploy Easy Macro, a new technology that enhances user experience, while being environmentally friendly with a carbon footprint of zero. Ooredoo has also moved all its customers to paperless billing ‘eBill service’ to cut down on paper waste as part of the company's many ‘Go Green' initiatives.
