The health camp conducted as part of the India Health Expo 2016 has begun Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
Speaking in ceremony held yesterday afternoon in IGHM, the hospital noted that doctors from India will be reviewing patients. The Hospital added that the doctors consulting will be mainly from the specialist areas that are not generally provided in IGMH.
Dr. Ali Nazeem said that this was a vital service to the public, noting that the Hospital itself is a gift by India.
As part of the Health and Wellness Week, Indian High Commission is conducting health camps in Male’. A team of urologists will review patients from the 14th to the 16th of this month and a team of nephrologists will review patients from the 15th to the 16th of this month. An additional team of pediatric orthopedic surgeons will review patients from the 16th to the 18th of this month.
Speaking in the opening ceremony, IGMH CEO Brigadier General (Rtd) Farhath Shaheer said that India had always assisted in providing assistance to the health sector, which had formed one of strongest bonds between the two countries.
Indian High Commissioner Akhilesh Mishra said that health services is one of the basic essentials for a humane life and that providing health services was the most noble service. He added that they will carry out more camps of this nature in the future.
