Ooredoo and MediaNet has signed an infrastructure sharing agreement, for mutual business growth and enhanced customer experience.
The agreement was signed in a ceremony held in Hotel Jen by Ooredoo CEO Vikram Singh and MediaNet CEO Ahmed Shafeeu.
Speaking in the ceremony, Ooredoo Senior Executive Public Relations Noora Ibrahim Zahir said that this will facilitate better services to their clients and provide a higher quality of service.
CEO Vikram Singh said that infrastructure sharing is an internationally practiced method, adding that this will benefit the citizens. He added that instead of placing more towers and cables, the service will be shared within a common network.
Singh added that the transnational fiber optic cable, a project costing US$ 25 million, will soon be completed. Once completed, the project will facilitate faster broadband services to MediaNet customers.
“Ooredoo always wishes to provide different services to the public,” he said.
MediaNet CEO Ahmed Shafeeu said that MediaNet always aimed to improve the services given to the public, noting that due to the changes the customers in the Atoll will get enhanced services. He added that inter Atoll customers will be able to experience High Definition TV soon.
