Countries urge caution when travelling to Zika spreading nations
Many nations have begun to urge caution when travelling to nations with increasing levels of Zika cases, especially for expectant mothers.
The caution came after WHO had issued a warning on the disease, urging caution.
The virus is transmitted by the aedes mosquito, which is also the same carrier for dengue. The mosquito is active during sunrise and sunset.
No official warning had been released by Maldives, as the virus spreading nations are not frequented by the Maldivians.
Health Minister Irthisham Adam said that so far no cases had been reported from the country, but urged caution and to implement protective measures.
