Attorney General Mohamed Anil has said that disagreements between some of the state institutions regarding criminal justice have been causing a stop to the whole system.
Attorney General Mohamed Anil made this remark speaking at the conference held at Traders Hotel on Strengthening the Criminal Justice System of the Maldives.
He said that there are many challenges to the criminal justice system even though there has been done a lot of work to strengthen it over the past 10 years. He said that with the introduction of new amendments to the criminal justice it should be studied whether it has also brought negative points to it.
Anil said that it should be also checked for any holes in the system during the work to strengthen the system.
Anil expressed hopes that the workshop will be a cause to achieve the aims within the next four years in strengthening the criminal justice system.
