Founder and Chairman of Villa Air, Gasim Ibrahim has stated that the government is doing a great and important service to develop an airport in every atoll of Maldives.
Gasim Ibrahim made this remark speaking at the ceremony held at Maamigili International Airport to receive the new passenger airplane of Villa Air’s Flyme on Wednesday, bringing the fleet’s total to 5.
Gasim Ibrahim said that he wishes well to this great endeavor of the government and hopes to see more airports developed.
“The result will be remarkable. More tourists will visit Maldives. The development and progress of the country will increase as well. Locals will have ease in travelling to different parts of the country,” he said.
In addition to this Gasim noted that this will also benefit guesthouse businesses. He said that increasing airlines will bring down the price of tickets.
He said that this has been very evident with the launching of Flyme airline services. He said that the MVR3600 up and down ticket to Addu City has now been lowered to MVR2000 from Flyme.
