Keyodhoo constituency MP, Sheikh Moosa Nizar Ibrahim has said that wars are not the only dangers faced by the countries of today. He said that the environmental problems are one of the biggest dangers faced by these countries.
Sheikh Moosa Nizar made this remark debating in Peoples’ Majlis regarding reformation of the Tourism Act.
He said that the introduction of the green tax will reduce environmental harm in the least costly manner.
Sheikh Moosa Nizar said that taking tax to consolidate the management of the government is very important. He said that this is the case in other world countries.
“This is a very important matter. The foundation of this is the protection of the environment. Those problems cause adverse effects on the health,” he said.
Sheikh Moosa Nizar said that the green taxes are economically efficient because they give polluters an incentive to reduce their pollution up to the point where further reduction would cost more than paying the tax, and to do so in the least costly way.
