Economic Minister Mohammed Saeed have inaugurated fourth Investment Forum of Maldives last night
This year’s forum will be held in Dubai in December. There will be three events in the forum. That is an inaugural session, a networking session between Maldivian business community and foreign investors and a gala dinner.
The minister said that even now Dubai plays a vital role in connecting Maldives with the rest of the world and new doors will open as a result of this forum. “Companies from Dubai and other countries will take part in this forum” said the minister.
The minister said that the previous forums held in Singapore, China and India were very successful forums and the results of these forums can be seen even today. He said that as a result of those forums many new investors came to Maldives and still more are discussing to invest in Maldives.
He said that the government is conducting such forums to let foreign investors know about the opportunities in Maldives. “Previously Maldives was just taking part in forums heled by others. Today, we are conducting forums and inviting others” said the minister.
Mohammed Saeed said that even though Maldives is a small country, Maldives has the highest return rate in investments among Asian countries.
