Villimale’ constituency MP Ahmed Nihan Hussein Manik has said that amendments were proposed to the Crimes Act to ensure the protection of the people against violence and blood shed.
Speaking on the bill, Nihan said that the first to be apprehended should be those who brainwash the youth into believing that the efforts of the government to benefit the nation is a farce to achieve political agemds
“I believe that these people should be arrested in the near future to make Maldives peaceful,” he said.
Nihan said that it is saddening that one of the largest political party is against the efforts of the government and the partners against criminal violence.
He said every Maldivian has the right to live without fear or intimidation, and underlined the high priority afforded by his Administration to maintaining peace and stability in the country.
