Hanimadhoo constituency MP Hussein Shahudee has called the authorities to not regard common epidemics as businesses.
He made this remark during the debate held at Wednesday’s parliament sitting regarding the proposed amendments to the law which prohibits threatening and the use of sharp objects.
Shahudee said that the amendment shows that the objective of the government is to curb violence and unrest in the society.
He said that the amendment will make way for the implementation of the punishment upon him if it continues,” he said.
“Therefore I believe that this amendment will bring true happiness to the Maldives. I have reiterated that we should give preference to the nation over others,” he said
Shahudee said that every individual of Maldives has a responsibility upon his shoulder to build the nation and secure the people.
“The records clearly show the number of deaths and other convicts. All parents will want their child to be enthusiastic,” he said.
