Thinadhoo dhekunu constituency MP Abdulla Ahmad has called the authorities to increase the wages of civil servants and teachers.
Speaking at the Peoples’ Majlis, Abdulla said that the services of the government are not perfected by the political staffs with big wages. He said that it cannot be accepted that the increase of the wages of the civil servants are not included in the projected state budget for 2015.
“It is saddening that the increase of the civil servants wages are not included in this 24.3 billion Ruffiya budget. While some claim that the year 2015 will be a prosperous year for the teachers, the finance minister stated that the wages of the civil servants will not be increased,” he said.
He said that the 2.1 billion allocated for the health sector will resolve many of the challenges faced by the health sector.
He said that the health sector is the biggest challenge to every government.
Abdulla said that the foolhardy system of the MDP government have made the state of the health sector to deteriorate.
He said that the health sector was the best sector in the Maldives before the inception of the MDP government in the year 2008.
