Jumhooree Party leader and Maamigili constituency MP Gasim Ibrahim has called the authorities to use the green tax which will be commenced from November of next year for different environmental causes.
He made this remark speaking at the budget committees meeting held yesterday at the Peoples’ Majlis
Gasim Ibrahim said that protecting and preserving the environment of Maldives is very important to preserve the good image of Maldives and to develop the tourism industry.
In this regard, Gasim said that these environmental causes include providing of clean water, establishing good sewage systems in the islands and the disposal of waste.
Gasim said that all the inhabited islands are in need of these services and it will be very important to utilize the green tax for this.
