Bilehdhoo constituency MP, Ahmed Mubeen has said that it is important to establish a good education system to resolve social problems.
Speaking at the Peoples’ Majlis yesterday, Mubeen said that there is no building to establish a pre school in Bilehdhoo and a good education is not provided to children because the pre-school is managed in a class room of the school of Biledhoo.
“We always talk about the social problems faced by Maldives in every forum. We always hear of a law to be passed against gang activity. Or we always hear of news of the inability to resolve these issues,” he said.
He said that the main reason for all these problems is the lack of a good education system in the Maldives.
Mubeen said that the children of Biledhoo with no pre-school have no good educational foundation. “We are witnessing many children being deprived of education. Yes, there is a pre-school class held in one of the class rooms. However, this is not the education they are in need of. This is not the hopes of their parents,” he said.
He said that these children should be provided a pre-school education in a pre-school as is done in other islands of Maldives.
