President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that his government will bring development and progress to the nation in the year 2015 via the state budget and also from other than the budget.
President Yameen made this remark speaking at the ceremony of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) held at STELCO to celebrate the joining of 1597 people and to announce the inauguration of 66 branches of the party established in the atolls.
The President said that developments can be brought outside the budget too and the largest numerals in the budget will be for mega projects.
President Yameen said that the projects include the merging of smaller populations to larger populations and many youth centered projects.
He said that the mega projects include the Hulhumale’ land reclamation project and the bridge project.
“Development is not restricted to state budget. It can come from other means as well. We get financial assistance and donations from various friendly organizations in addition to the income generated by the state,” he said.
“Say No to those who claim that this budget is not enough to implement the manifesto of PPM,” the President said.
In addition to this, the President said that the health sector of the country will see many improvements and reformations, since the state budget of 2015 aims to spend most of its expenditure in the health sector.
