Jumhooree Party Leader Gasim Ibrahim has said that the Republican government will only be complete with equality.
Gasim Ibrahim made this remark in view of the commemoration of the Republic Day of Maldives. He said that the meaning of Republic government is to establish equality.
“In a sultanate or kingship, it is the King who will make decisions and the government will be run in accordance to his decisions,” he said.
In addition to this Gasim said that regardless how much a government wants to do many things for the people, it cannot be done without having the right resources and means.
He said that equality is the backbone of a republican government. He added that this is the belief of the political thinkers of the world.
