Jumhooree Party has stated that the support of the European Union (EU) for a sovereign state of Palestine is a big progress for Palestine.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, the official spokesperson of the party, Ali Solih said that the issue of the Palestine is connected to the pulse of the people of Maldives. He said that the Jumhooree Party also seeks a solution to the Palestinian issue.
Ali Solih said that the people of Maldives have also recently displayed their support for the Palestinian cause. “This was shown very clearly from the support of the people of Maldives for the Gaza fund which was held recently. Maldivians are always with their brethren from Palestine,” he said.
Ali Solih said that the Jumhooree Party calls the European Union to expedite the works to make an independent state for Palestine. He said that the world should not wait for another Gaza war.
He said that the atrocities and war cannot be stopped except through recognizing a state for Palestine.
