PPM has stated that the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has tried to distort the speech of foreign minister Dunya Maumoon at the Peoples’ Majlis regarding the recent visit of China’s President to India.
PPM stated that MDP distorted the speech of Dunya to deceive the public regarding the success and achievements of the current government.
In a press release issued by the PPM, PPM stated that MDP has tried to cause undue foreign influence to internal matters of the Maldives by lying and doctoring the statement of the foreign minister.
“This was done at a time when PPM is preparing to mark the third anniversary of the party and the first anniversary of the government of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. This is a plan orchestrated by MDP to deceive the public regarding the achievements of the government,” PPM stated.
Some media’s reported that ascribing to Dunya that India has joined the new Maritime Silk Road proposed by China. However, India stated that the issue of the new Maritime Silk Route was neither raised nor discussed during the recent visit of China’s President to India, contrary to what has been reported in the local media.
Meanwhile, the foreign ministry also denied the allegations of the opposition MDP.
