Jumhooree Party leader, Maamigili constituency MP, Gasim Ibrahim has said that the state budget proposed by the government for the upcoming year 2015 is an unjust budget.
Gasim Ibrahim made this remark speaking at the budget review committee’s meeting yesterday. He said that there are many indiscriminations and oppressions against the people in the budget.
He said that there is also an agenda to depower the authority of independent institutions through the budget.
Gasim said that it is difficult to consider the budget as a balanced budget considering these concerns.
Gasim Ibrahim summoned officials of the Finance Ministry to the budget committee and requested to resolve these issues.
Kinbidhoo constituency MP Abdulla Riyaz said that the local council budget was made without considering the population and the works of the council.
Komandoo constitutency MP Ahmed Nashid said that the works of the budget cannot be commenced without the Finance Ministry submitting the financial reports of the budget.
PPM and MDA members praised the budget and stated that it is perfect.
