Gulhifalhu Flat buyers meet JP Parliamentary Group
Representatives of the 216 people who bought flats from Male’ Atoll Gulhifalhu have met with the Parliamentary Group of the Jumhooree Party.

At the meeting held at Jumhooree Hall, M. Kunooz, the representatives told the MPs that they made the payments when the then government promised that the flats will be handed over within 6 months.

The representatives stated that some of the people even paid MVR 9 million and some paid MVR 9 lakh as they do not have their own shelters. They also said that some have paid less than that.

They said that five years have passed since the payments however they still have not been given those flats.

The representatives stated that the Gulhifalhu investment informed them that the works on the flat have been stalled.

They said that it is worrying that the government has not informed any of the payers regarding the progress or the lack of progress of the project.

They requested the Jumhooree Party Parliamentary group to do everything possible to resolve this issue.

Jumhooree Party Parliamentary Group stated that they will do everything they can in cooperation with the government to resolve this matter. A three member committee was appointed by the parliamentary group last night.

Last night’s meeting was chaired by the leader of the Jumhooree Part, Gasim Ibrahim.
