Victory Day is celebrated to preserve and defend “victory”- Sameer
Secretary General of the Jumhooree party, Ahmed Sameer has said that the purpose of celebrating the Victory Day is to strengthen the resolve to preserve and defend that victory.

Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Sameer said that there are much lessons that can be learnt from the 3 November 1988. He said that he believes that the people of Maldives will always think deeply of the events of that fateful day.

Sameer said that all the speeches of the leaders on the occasion of Victory Day is regarding one point. “That is the unity displayed by the Maldivians on that fateful day. The Jihad of the security forces of Maldives. A day similar to that day or a day more dangerous than that day is imminent if we do not take lessons from that day and do not take the necessary precautions,” he said.

In addition to this, Sameer said that the Jumhooree Party will always work to implement the call of the Jumhooree Party leader, Gasim Ibrahim to preserve the victory granted to Maldives by Allah.

“The personality of Gasim is built on the nation and the religion of Islam. For the prosperity and progress of the nation and the people. He is sacrificing everything for that,” he said.

Sameer said that the soveringy and independence of the Maldivian nation is the number one priority of the Jumhooree Party. He said that the Jumhooree Party will not let any other religion to be practiced in Maldives.

Sameer underscored the importance of increasing more programs to instill the love of Islam and the nation in the hearts of the youth.
