Many were martyred and their innocent blood were shed by the aggressive terrorists,” he said.
Gasim said that the people of Maldives is proud at the steadfastness, courage and valour displayed by the Maldivian soldiers on that fateful day.
“During that time Police and the army worked under one institution as one team. They both worked steadfast in the face of the enemies,” he said.

In addition to this, he said that the sacrifice of the Maldivians on that day is the highest of sacrifices and martyrdom. The people of Maldives displayed unity and harmony even when the enemies surrounded them, he said.
