India works to strengthen SAARC- Rajeev Sahare
Indian High Commissioner in Maldives, Rajeev Sahare has said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to strengthen South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

He made this remark the ceremony held to mark “India-Maldives Friendship Day” and to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of India-Maldives Diplomatic Relations.

The High Commissioner said that this is apparent from the oath taking ceremony of the Prime Minister of India where all of the leaders of SAARC countries were invited.

He said that the policies of the Indian government includes using their satellite to help and assist neighboring countries nearby.

The Indian High Commissioner also stated that talks have been on going to open a “SAARC” bank however it is yet on pending.

He said that if the SAARC bank has been established then it will benefit the region a lot.
