Dhidhdhoo constituency member of the Peoples’ Majlis, Ahmed Sameer has said that he will work hard to fulfill five promises for Dhidhdhoo constituency if he is re-elected for the constituency seat in the upcoming Peoples’ Majlis election.
Sameer said that his hopes for Dhidhdhoo include resolving the issue of water problem, road construction, commencing bus services for school students, building a dock yard, opening a sports complex for the youth and opening a higher studies college campus in the island.
Sameer said that these are matters that he can put pressure on the authority to carry out. He said that if he is re-elected for the seat he will do everything in his power to achieve these hopes for the people.
He said that he is always a honest and will remain honest for the nation and the people. He said that he will never betray the trust of the people ever.
“I have attested this to the people in the past term,” he said.
Sameer noted that there will be people who will question his sincerity and integrity for switching parties when election has drawn near. He said that there is no plausible reason for doubting his integrity.
“I am always sincere for the party I am elected for. In this regard, I have remained true and sincere to MDP. I resigned from MDP after sincerely serving the party for this term in the Majlis,” he said.
He said that he entered into politics with Gasim Ibrahim to form Jumhooree Party. He said that worked with Gasim Ibrahim to form the Jumhooree Party at a time when the then President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom had requested his service.
In addition to this, Sameer said that the current President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will know of his sincerity during the time he worked in Stelco.
