If grade 12 classes are stopped then it is a step backwards from development- JP

Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party’s Parliamentary Group and Kinbidhoo constituency MP Abdulla Riyaz has said that if schools which previously had taught up to grade 12 stops those classes then it is a step taken backwards from development.

Abdulla Riyaz said the schools teaching such levels is a progress and a step towards development and if it this ceases then this is a step taken backwards from progress and development.

Abdulla Riyaz stated that the reasons for this should be identified and should be resolved. He added that the Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Shiham has been informed of this and has been requested to take the necessary steps to resolve this issue.

The Kinbidhoo constituency MP further said that discussions were held with the minister to develop the quality of education given in the schools in the islands. He said that every person will want their children to get the best education.

He said that many are forced to come to the capital Male’ which causes lot of financial and social problems for them.
