JP calls to increase salary and allowances of teachers
Jumhooree Party has acknowledged that the salary and allowances of the teachers are not enough for their work and they deserve better.

Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party’s Parliamentary Group and Kinbidhoo constituency MP Abdulla Riyaz said that that discussions have been held with the minister of education. He said that the minister was requested to increase the salary and allowances of the teachers.

“We told that this was a sincere request by the Jumhooree Party. We hope that this is resolved as soon as possible,” he said.

Abdulla Riyaz said that the worries raised by the Teachers Association is valid. He said that such issues should listened to and taken heed.

He said that the minister gave a very positive respond and that she will submit the matter to the cabinet this Thursday.
