Tourism Minister, Ahmed Adheeb has said that the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom does not suffer from brain tumor or any such terminal illnesses.
Minister Adheeb made this remark speaking at a program aired on DhiTV. He said that the President suffered from a cold following his return from Hajj pilgrimage which is common among pilgrims. He said that the President stayed in Singapore for some days to get treated for that.
Adheeb said that the President is a person who works tirelessly using his “brain”.
Adheeb said that the President attending the UN assembly is very important and he had a choice between going to the UN assembly or to perform his Hajj pilgrimage.
“Hajj pilgrimage was his personal choice. He wanted to thank Allah. It is something very important to lift up the nation economically by establishing a just governance,” he said.
Adheeb said that the President performed his Hajj similar to any other Muslim and therefore it is natural for him to catch a cold similar to many of the other pilgrims.
