Managing Director of MIFCO, Ahmed Adhly has said that fishing should not be done without any limit regardless of the vast sea area of Maldives.
Ahmed Adhly made this remark speaking at the ceremony held by the State trading Organization (STO) to launch the Fish Week.
He said that even with this year coming to an end the fishing has been very low.
Adhly said that today the people should understand that the Maldivian seas are very perilous and should be protected and looked after.
Adhly also underscored the importance of increasing fish products to maintain the sustainability of the fishing industry.
“We should get fish with no histamine. The living standard and style of Maldivians have changed over the years and is changing. Therefore, the quality of service that the people require has been changed too. Therefore the products should be quality and also the packing should be very good,” he said.
