Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that the mushafs to published specially designed for Maldivians will be published before July 26, next year, the golden jubilee of the independence day of Maldives.
Dr. Shaheem made this remark speaking at the ceremony held at the Islamic Center to launch the ‘A Mushaf to every Maldivian” program.
He said that every country has a Mushaf specially published for that country. He said that Maldives has been using mushafs published for other countries because of the lack of a mushaf specially published for Maldivians.
He said that the text of this Mushaf was sent by Bahrain as a gift and Bahrain will be assisting in publishing them as well.
The Minister said that front cover of the Mushaf was designed by Dhiislam teach for free. He said that the design for Maldivian Mushaf will be unique from other mushaf designs and the design will be based on the designs found in the stones of the Hukuru Mosque.
Dr. Shaheem said that it is not correct to claim that Maldives has enough Mushafs. He said that many people come to the ministry requesting mushafs.
