Some Indian newspapers including the Indian Express has reported that the discussions between Indian Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and Minister of Defence of Maldives Mohamed Nazim took an amusing turn Wednesday when, during a conversation about how the island nation could do with the services of some specialists in that country.
According to the report, the Director General Health Services Dr Jagdish Prasad offered his services in the Maldives as a cardiologist.
At this, secretary Lov Verma quipped: “Yes he is looking for a vacation.”
After a brief interlude, the minister himself followed suit with the plea that since politics keeps him busy, he too could head to Maldives to further his medical practice.
