Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee has said that reducing civil servants and cutting down their salaries is not a solution for the budget problems faced by the state.
Dr. Shainee said that the government is working to make the best of the civil servants by appealing them to make the best of their time and productivity.
He said that the government is also working to cut down the prices of goods and services and to provide shelter. He said that when it is accomplished then the value of money will rise which will benefit all people as a result.
International financial institutions have been raising concern because three out of four from the state budget is allocated for salaries.
They have been calling the government to cut down the salaries of the government staffs.
