Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has said that the Maldives wants to increase the benefit of the Maldivian trade with the China under the silk route membership established with China.
The Economic Minister made this remark speaking at the press conference held at the President’s Office on Wednesday night.
Minister Mohamed Saeed said that the government is trying to make a trade pre-friendship mechanism from it.
“Now Chinese imports have increased to Maldives. Most are heavy machinery. And there are ease that can be sought even in matters related to transport,” he said.
The minister said that a document has been prepared on this and have been submitted to the economic council.
In addition to this, the Minister said that 67 people have been granted loans under the loan scheme. He said that the ministry is working to provide a new loan scheme. He said this is to create new opportunities for the youth.
Mohamed Saeed noted that 1.25 Ruffiya has been reduced from the price of fuel sold in Maldives.
