The staff of the Faafu atoll Feeali Health Centre has taken an initiative to raise funds for the things required for the new two story building of the health center.
The building was established by the hard work and labour of the staff to create a good environment at the health centre for the Thalassemia patients given that Feeali has the largest number of Thalassemia patients in Maldives.
A staff from the health center said that all the works of the building is now complete and now needs things required for the new ward.
He said that the services will be commenced from the building as soon as the ward gets the necessary items.
The staff stated that these things will be hopefully granted by the Ministry of Health. The acting minister of health, minister of defence Mohamed Nazim said that the government is trying to import all health related products.
There are 11 children currently registered as Thalassemia patients in the island.
