Home Minister Umar Naseer said that the two prisoners who escaped from Maafushi jail will be returned to the jail.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Minister Umar Naseer said that the security forces and the correctional service are working nonstop to find the two convicts.
The Minister also said that Maldives Police Service is also investigating the case. He said that the details on the matter will be publicized after the Police conclude their investigation.
In a tweet sent out by the Home Minister, he stated that every prison escape is an opportunity for Prison Officers to identify the loop holes and improve the system while they hunt them down.
Presently, Police are in search of the two inmates who had escaped jail by sawing their way out. The convicts are known to be Ibrahim Shahum Adam (23) of G.Cozy and Fariyash Ahmed (26) of GA. Maamendhoo, Javaahiru Vaadhee.
