Internal Audit team and lawyers of the Elections Commission has agreed that the Jumhooree Party was penalized by the commission unjustly.
Secretary General of the Jumhooree Party, Ahmed Sameer told Miadhu Daily that the Elections Commission penalized the party 9 times and JP submitted a case regarding the matter. However the party did not receive any answers from the commission for months.
Sameer said that lawyers and internal audit team of the Elections Commission met with the Jumhooree Party yesterday. He said that it was found that they did not receive all the documents and evidences put forth by the party.
“Therefore we have now given them all the documents,” he said.
Sameer said that the party requested them to investigate the matter thoroughly and announce their mistake to the public and apologize for this blunder.
“They said that they will discuss the matter with the commission and resolve this problem faced by the Jumhooree Party even today,” he said.
He said that the team apologized for the commission not replying formally through a letter.
