Investigation on Hamid living in Majlis held-up
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has stated that the investigations on the case of former Henveiru Dhekunu constituency MP Hamid Abdul Ghafoor living in the Peoples’ Majlis hiding from the Court has been held up because the Majlis failed to provide the necessary information.

President of ACC, Hassan Luthfee told Miadhu Daily that the commission is investigating the case of Hamid Abdul Ghafoor living in the Majlis illegally. However the case is now held up because the Majlis has yet not answered a request to the Majlis 6 months ago.

Hassan said that the case was filed by an individual from the public. He said that a team of the ACC went to the Majlis however the Majlis did not give them an adequate reply.

“There were none who can be accountable present so the commission requested the Majlis to reply by writing. However it has now been six months. No replies so the investigation is paused,” he said.

He said that the investigation will be commenced as soon as the Majlis sends them a reply.

Hassan said that the investigation so far shows that Hamid lived in the Majlis on his own accord.
