Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim has stated that soldiers should be upon upon upright military moral character.
He made this remark at the ceremony held to launch the new combat uniform of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The minister called the military officers to be upon the Islamic correct creed following the code of ethics of the military. He said that the military officers should work sincerely to uphold the constitutional law and government.
He said that no military officer should violate the law and go beyond the limits set by the constitution.
Minister Nazim said that the military officers should be prepared to do everything in conformity with the constitution to defend the nation.
The minister reiterated that the ideal military character often include moral attributes such as integrity, honesty, courage, and loyalty, and military personnel have both a moral and a legal obligation to obey the laws and uphold high moral standards in the performance of their duties.
