Commissioner of Police, Hussein Waheed has said that the Police will follow the guidance of the Home Minister.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, the Commissioner said that the Police will obey the orders of the Home Minister whenever his orders are inconformity with the Constitution and laws of Maldives.
He said that the Minister has so far not raised any complaints regarding the Police. He said that the Police believes that they are moving forward according to the guidance of the Home Minister.
“We follow every order of the Home Minister if that order is in agreement with the constitution,” he said.
The commissioner made this remark while the Home Minister recently claimed that the there is difficulty in implementing the mandate of the Home Ministry because the President has narrowed the authority of the Home Minister.
