The spokesperson of the Jumhooree Party, Ali Solih has said that the Jumhooree Party does not believe in causing unrest in the society by committing arson and such crimes.
Ali Solih made this remark condemning the arson of the MDP Addu City Office and neighbouring shop and the attack of masked men to the participants of MDP rally in Addu City Feydhoo. He said that political activity is a right given by the constitution and no one should do anything to violate that right. He said that those who violate this right is going against the spirit of democracy.
Ali Solih said that Jumhooree Party will never support arson and inflicting damages on public or private properties.
“These are crimes against the spirit of democracy,” he said.
Ali Solih said that the leader of Jumhooree Party, who has done the biggest sacrifices for establishing democratic principles in Maldives always works for democracy through democratic means and not through violence and causing unrest in the society.
