Some members of the Maldives Police Service who attempted to restore law and order during a conflict in the Addu City Feydhoo Harbour have been injured in the line of duty.
The conflict broke out when a group of masked individuals arrived at a meeting by the Maldivian Democratic Party and attempted to cause a commotion.
The Police active in the area at the time to maintain security immediately moved to protect the members of the public, despite suffering many injuries and eventually controlled the situation.
6 individuals have been brought into Police custody regarding this incident.
Some members of the public were also injured during the incident.
