Ministry of Education has stated that there will always be staffs transferring to or joining the education sector whenever staffs in the sector transfer to other sectors.
Education Ministry made this remark in response to the recent statement of the Teachers Association of Maldives (TAM) that teachers are changing to other sectors because of the concerns in the education sector.
State Minister of Education, Dr. Abdulla Nazeer speaking to Miadhu Daily said that the information spread by the Teachers Association is not correct.
Dr. Nazeer said that while some teachers leave their profession there is always others who join the education sector. He said that it is the reason why the education sector has no problem of shortage of staffs.
“While they claim that a number of principals and teachers are leaving their profession next year, there will be always a new batch that will join the sector. It is the reason why there is no shortage of staffs in this sector. Right? Therefore what they are saying is not entirely true,” he said.
He said that this is not something new but have always been the case. He said that some leave and others join.
