Commissioner of Police Hussein Waheed has said that the Police are working within the confines of the constitution very independently without any undue influence.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Hussein Waheed said that there are no undue influences on Police and no such orders coming from any authorities.
He said that the authorities always give guidance and advices to work within the confines of the constitution and law.
“Therefore I do not have to be worried on an order that might come upon me. I have now time to think about what next to do to develop the Police Service and give the people quality services,” he said.
The Commissioner said that no person is detained unconstitutionally and no one will make any requests to release a prisoner unconstitutionally.
He said that the leadership of Police are a well qualified team. “Every Police officer today is a person who is ready to make any sacrifices necessary for the security and stability of the nation,” he said.
