Commissioner of Police, Hussein Waheed has said that the Maldives Police Service will help the councils to implement their policies whenever the councils are unable.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Commissioner of Police stated that the implementation of the guidelines is a responsibility of the councils and the councils should be the first and foremost who should implement them.
He said that if the people refuse to implement those guidelines then Police will play their constitutional role to help the councils in implementing them.
Hussein Waheed said that the police will take no action except by first admonishing those who fail to implement those guidelines.
He said that the people should obey these guidelines and if there is any problem then it should be resolved by holding discussions with the councils.
