Foreign Minister Dr. Mohamed Asim has stated that he will give highest priority to implementing the Government’s foreign policy.
Speaking to press in Foreign Ministry, Dr. Asim said that the Government’s foreign policy focused on developing and sustaining relationships with partner nations, neighboring nations and international bodies.
Dr, Asim said the biggest priority of the Foreign Service will be to brief the other nations on the actions, decisions and policies of the Government, adding that he will place special emphasis on doing so.
Dr. Asim was a career service person in the Foreign Service, filling various positions in the Ministry, including as Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, EU and UK.at the time when serious pressure was on the Maldives from UK and EU, Dr. Asim had worked as the Ambassador and served the nation.
