MDP has warned of a regime change.
The warning was issued in their anniversary gathering. The party’s planned rally was interrupted by the Police. As a result the rally was held near the Henveyru football grounds near Majeedhee Magu.
Anti- Government sentiment poured out in this rally which was not stopped by the Police. No arrests were made in connection to the protest, however, MDP Vice President Mohamed Shifaz was arrested. Police said that Shifaz was summoned to the Police to answer questions. He was released later on.
This evening MDP had asserted that right to assembly was granted in the Constitution and as such will continue to enforce that right.
