Civil Court orders caution on AG
Civil Court has ordered caution against the Attorney General Mohamed Anil.

The decision came after the AG had disagreed over the verdict issued on the ownership of haveeru news and criticized the motion. The AG had filed the case for appeal stating that the civil court verdict was an illegal one.

The caution stated that any individual who urged disobedience on court verdicts will be penalized and this included the AG as well. The statement said neither the AG or the AG office was exempt from protecting and upholding court verdicts, adding that any statement that urged defiance of the verdict or influenced the case will be acted on. The statement also said that if the AG and AG office had continued to uphold this form of defiance, then all related parties to AG and AG office will be panelized.

The statement said neither AG nor the AG Office had the constitutional right to criticize, nullify, declare the verdict as illegal. Civil court also said that AG office had publicized the appeal in the haveeru case, a departure from their normal proceedings, adding that this cast doubts on the impartiality and justice enforced by the office on their administrative procedures.
