Maharashtra Chief Minister has ordered the Police to investigate and submit a report on Islamic preacher Dr. Zakir Naik.
The Chief Minister has called on the Police to review Naik’s speeches, videos and his social media accounts.
The direction comes amid reports that one of the terrorists who attacked an upmarket restaurant in the Bangladeshi capital a few days ago, killing 22 people, was inspired by sermons of the 50-year-old Mumbai-based Islamic scholar.
However, Dr. Naik has never condoned violence, taking an informative path on understanding Islam compared to other religions.
