Dr. Shaheem calls to serve Quran
Maldives Islamic University’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has called on various companies and corporations to extend assistance in promoting the study of Quran.

Dr. Shaheem said that all expenses paid in lieu of charity and waqf will benefit the spender in the afterlife.

Dr. Shaheem noted the assistance provided by Ayady Takaful of Allied Insurance for PSM’s “Enme Ali Gadha Thari” competition and thanked the company. He called on other companies to emulate this example.

He said the University will be providing technical assistance for the International Quran Recitation Company, run on the invitation of the President. He noted that the Ministry will be working in collaboration with relevant government agencies to make the necessary arrangements for the competition.

“The University is legally mandated to promote and disseminate understanding of Islam, Islamic Education and has the power to do so. I am thankful for that,”

Dr. Shaheem also expressed his thanks to PSM, TVM and Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu for their work on Quran.

Islamic University has given an MVR 109000 scholarships to the three winners of the “Enme Ali Gadha Thari” competition, from any field they decide on.
