Islamic Ministry has handed over zikr boards to schools. The boards are to be installed in school grounds.
The boards were handed over to the schools by Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Ziyad Baqir. The boards will be fixed in 36 schools, both public, private and in pre-schools.
Under the program, 9 boards will be handed to each school.
Speaking in the ceremony, Islamic Minister said this was part of the Ministry’s mandate to promote Islam and Islamic values. He said many more boards like this will be placed in public areas. He added that they were focusing on the biggest investment of a nature; young children, at the start of the program. Dr. Ziyad noted that as children spent the bigger part of their day in schools and putting boards in schools will give maximum exposure.
Ministry had not specified where in the schools the boards needed to be placed, but said the boards have to be placed in an area accessible to students and public.
