Contracts signed for the procurement of materials for piloting of Drainage system in Kulhudhuffushi

Ministry of Environment and Energy signed 2 contracts for a Pilot Drainage Project to address the rainwater flooding in Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi.

The contracts were signed between Male Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) for the procurement of materials and Maldives Road Development Corporation for the civil works of pilot project.

Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim signed the contract agreements on behalf of the Ministry and Managing Director Mr. Ahmed Umar signed on behalf of MWSC and Managing Director Mr. Ibrahim Nazeem signed on behalf of Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC).

The total cost of the procurement is MVR 14,055,076.50 and for the civil works MVR 2,000,000.00 and the work is scheduled to be completed within 5 months from the contract award date.The project is funded by the Least Development Country Fund (LDCF) of Global Environment Facility (GEF) and UNDP, and co-financed in-kind by the Government of Maldives.
